Chris,Awesome that you got a deal with Lampre for 2014! It is so sweeet to see you will be out there. Now I have someone to follow during the season. Stay safe!
I'm really looking forward to seeing you defend at the Vuelta! It looks like another good course profile for you. Good luck on the Lampre deal, I'm casting a spell for you.
You gotta get a ride! I love your style!! X, AG
Hi Chris. I'll be buying a Lampre jersey as soon as you ink the deal and make the official announcement. Can't wait to sport the pink and blue!!!
I hope the news of your ride turns out to be true! I look forward to watching and reading every minute of your 2014 (and Rui Costa too).
Chris, You don't know me, but I've been watching your career for many years. I'm really happy that you got a ride! I'm looking forward to the giro and the vuelta. Old guys rule!!
If you really want to race on a team this year, perhaps you should consider lowering your price. Guess it just depends upon how badly you want it. It would be sad; though, wouldn't it, if you were left off of a team because you asked for too much money?
We are proud of you Chris. Hope 2014 brings a contract. Be safe!
Hello Chris: have you tried ASEA?
Huge fan: Happy Holidays and Have a Great New Year!!
Very well done. Season's Greetings.
Chris - I was the lucky bidder of your signed jersey at Bart Bowen's CXmas Party here in Bend on Dec 5th. Thanx for donating to a great cause.
Chris, for Christmas I got a signed jersey you donated to a brain injury fund raiser in Sisters. Living in NE Oregon, I have been a fan for a number years. It will hang with pride in my office and inspire me to get some miles in on those days I would rather not! I just wanted to let you know how happy I was to get this gift from my family and thank you for putting Oregon on the international cycling map!
Chris,Welcome back to sunny San Diego! Saw you out on my ride today and gave a cheer your way! Great to see you back down in SoCal. I'm from Bend (born and raised) and ended up here in SD so have been following you closely since I took up the sport several years back. Hope to see you out there on the roads again soon. Keep up the good work. Merry Christmas!
Chris i really was amazed by you and the team in 2013 and your victory in the Vuelta was gripping action to watch here in the UK.I wish you all the best for the future and thank you for the great entertainment watching you perform against mostly younger guys for glory on those grueling tours. Take care :-)
What's the go for next year mate? Can't wait to see you race next year.
Hi ChrisI've been a big fan for years. I noticed your participation in the Clarks Corner Challenge which looked like a great event for a good cause. My brother created and manages a charity ride here in the North East now in its 4th year called Ride for Angels. The ride benefits Angel Flight North East a not for profit organization committed to providing free flights for children and adults who don't have access to life saving medical care. Since 1996 Angel Flight has provided more than 65,000 free flights and flown more than 12 million miles. To maintain its status as a not for profit, all planes, fuel, pilots time and operating expenses is donated. The organization counts on donations and more than 1000 pilots who volunteer their time to save lives. Four years ago my brother (also a cyclist) set out to do more for Angel Flight and started "Ride for Angels www.rideforangels.net A great charity ride with multiple distances and has grown every year. The organization would be honored if someone such as yourself was able to make the event which has been the first week of Sept every year. Hope to see you on a team soon !
Best Regards Rob H
Hi Chris, I just sent an email regarding my hope to work with you in the coming season. I have followed your career closely since the '90s. I have always been a fan and supporter. I would love to extend the support in the form of shoe sponsorship. Please let me know how I may be in contact with you. Best regards,Brett Lindstrom Sales and Marketing Manager/ Lake Cycling Intl.
Congrats you wild man! You were the best in 1996 and got ignored by everyone, still the best in 2013 and still not getting any respect by the money men. go figure. go make some real money writing books... I know your experience and mind will make for waaaay better reading than the other playahs...
Big fan of yours and hoping that a team respects your results and ability to bring a team together and win. Off question though, I'm relocating to either San Jun Capistrano or the San Diego (Olivenhain) area. Which one is better for cycling?
I'm still rewatching clips of your stages of the Vuelta, and enjoying them each time I do. You were amazing, and I love your competitive spirit, especially at your age. My fingers are crossed that we see you at the highest levels of cycling in 2014. You need to be running a team as DS when you do decide to retire. Too much knowledge in that head to let it go to waste.
WTF? Since when doesn't a grand tour winner get signed onto a World Tour team? I hope you get onto a team soon. You are amazing!
Hi Chris, To be honest, I had never heard of you or viewed cycling seriously until I met my boyfriend. He is quite the cycling enthusiast and you are his favorite cyclist! He said in one race, you actually helped a fellow racer who could no longer continue the race on his own. That is very inspiring. Is there some way you can send a hello message to my boyfriend? He looks up to you so much. I believe it will make his Christmas! Thank you for being great and such an inspiration to him, and now to me too.
Congratulations on finally winning a grand tour in 2013 after supporting so many others over the years. Hopefully we will all get to see you racing again in 2014 as you have given hope to all the "over 40's" who continue to dream of sporting success
When it's all said and done this year's Vuelta was the most memorable race of the year. Keep the faith and thanks for all.
